My MAC Eyeshadow Palettes

This has to be my most requested post to write. I posted a pic on Instagram (@laurenalicemua) and a video on Vine (@laurenalicemua) just after I reorganised them and I was inundated with people on twitter asking me what I had inside my palettes.

I am a massive eyeshadow palette fan.  I think if they are organised well it can encourage you to be more creative with your colour combinations.  I've been collecting MAC eyeshadows for over 12 years and I always had them in the little pot forms but quite a few were barely used and so by putting them into palettes I've found I've been experimenting more and using products up!

I do have more MAC eyeshadows than the average person but nevertheless I don't think my collection is as crazy as some I've seen. I would like to stress that as a makeup artist these aren't really just for general use and are a tool of my work.  Some of them I really regret buying.  My neutral palette is full of shades that are so similar and most of which I wouldn't repurchase, how many beige colours does one girl need?

Anyway, here is what's inside!

My favourites from this palette have to be Era, Copperplate and Print.  Era makes the most incredible lid colour.  It's got a slight sheen to it but this adds a great luminosity to the eye and really brightens.  Copperplate is my favourite crease colour.  It looks like nothing in the pan but when worn with a bit of winged liner and applied heavily to the crease it is something really special. Print is my new favourite smokey eye colour.  It's a soft grey colour, super easy to wear and perfect when paired with Naked Pigment by MAC.
Talk about 50 shades of brown!  In reality I only need one - Handwritten.  I'm on my second pan of this since discovering it only 6 months ago.  It's buttery soft and goes with everything.  It almost has a mauvey tinge to it which means it suite everyone.  I cannot rave about this enough.  Other highlights in this palette have to be, Coppering, Antiqued and Texture.
I have a few regretful purchases in this palette.  Malt is a totally useless colour on my skin tone which I never use and I will probably pass on to a friend, passionate never gives the payoff I want and I've never found a way to get Sketch and Smut to work for me.  However there are some beauts in there too!  Cranberry, Creme De Violet and Fig 1 are fast becoming favourites.  I'd steered clear of Sweet Lust for ages as it just seemed too frosty for me, but after a friend persuaded me to try it, it's love!

Ah my little quads!  They just look so perfect and so cute.  Stand outs are: Black Tied - the best smokey eye colour on the market, Contrast - a Kim K fave and one of my all time best eyeshadows too and Humid - don't be scared of green, on brown eyes they look seriously sexy and are more wearable than you think.

I'm on an eyeshadow buying ban for a while, 57 will do me!.. Unless you have any recommendations of colours I should add to my collection!?
